
How to Pair Your Smartphone®
Pair your smartphone with Uconnect® to enjoy hands-free access to essential smartphone features like making and receiving calls , streaming your favorite tunes through your vehicle speakers and more. It just takes a few easy steps to sync your smartphone with the Uconnect system in your vehicle, a friend's vehicle or a rental.
Pair Your Smartphone in Four Simple Steps
Important! It’s easy to restore a lost or broken smartphone pairing, but you must first delete any existing pairing from both your smartphone and your vehicle before attempting to re-pair.Learn More
To pair a smartphone, watch this video or complete the following steps:

STEP 1: On your smartphone
- Under Settings, press the Bluetooth® button and turn Wireless Connectivity on.

STEP 2: On your Uconnect® touchscreen
- Select “Phone”, Select “Settings”, press “Paired Phones” and then “Add Device”, or
- Select “Settings”, press "Phone/Bluetooth", press “Paired Phones” and then “Add Device”.

STEP 3: On your smartphone
- Select your Uconnect system from the device list.
- Confirm that the passkey displayed on the vehicle touchscreen and your smartphone screen match. Or, if your smartphone prompts you to enter a PIN, enter the PIN displayed on your Uconnect® system.
- Note for Android™ Devices: If your smartphone stops scanning for devices, press the Scan button in the Bluetooth Menu.
- When prompted, allow access for Contacts and Messages downloads.

STEP 4: On your Uconnect® touchscreen
- Set your smartphone as a favorite by pressing the Yes button when prompted.
- Your smartphone is now paired and ready for hands-free calling+.

Uconnect® Bluetooth Pairing Guide
Step 1: Complete the following steps on the system:
- First, press the 'Phone' icon on the Uconnect® Touch Screen.
- Press 'Yes'
Step 2: Complete the following steps in the phone:
- Select 'Uconnect' as the paired device.
- When prompted on the phone, enter the 4-digit PIN number shown on the Uconnect Touch Screen and accept.
Step 3: Complete the following steps on the system
- Once paired, you can set your phone as the favorite by pressing 'Yes.'
- Your phone is now paired and ready for hands-free calling.
- Press the Uconnect Phone button on your steering wheel to begin.
- Press the Uconnect Phone button on your steering wheel to begin.
Helpful tips to improve Bluetooth performance with your Uconnect® system
Your phone won't pair to system
- ● Perform a hard reset in the phone by removing the battery (if removable – see your phone's owner's manual). ● Delete the pairing history in your phone and Uconnect® system, which is usually found in the phone's Bluetooth® settings.● Verify you are selecting “Uconnect” in the discovered Bluetooth devices on your phone.
Your phone won't reconnect to the system after pairing
- ● Set your phone to "auto-connect" or "trusted device" within the phone's Bluetooth® settings ● Perform a factory reset on your phone. Refer to your phone manufacturer or cellular provider for instructions.● Many phones don't automatically reconnect after being restarted. Your phone can still be connected manually.
Your phonebook didn't download
- ● Check “Do not ask again," then accept the “phonebook download” request on your phone.● Up to 2000 contact names with four numbers per contact will transfer to the system's phonebook. Check with your phone manufacturer or cellular provider to avoid having duplicate contacts stored on your phone.
Text messaging through your system doesn't work
- ● Check “Do not ask again," then accept the “connect to your messages” request on your phone.● Verify that your phone has the Bluetooth® feature (Message Access Profile).
You can't make a conference call*
- ● Please keep in mind, Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular do not support conference calling.
You can't make a call while connected to the AUX jack
- ● Plugging in your phone to AUX while connected to Bluetooth® will disable Hands-Free Calling. Do not make calls while your phone is plugged into the AUX jack.
You're having trouble streaming music via Bluetooth®
- ● Before driving, start the music app on your phone. Your phone may have closed the app to conserve battery. Restart it by opening the music app and pressing play.

Uconnect® 4, 4C and 4C NAV with the 8.4-Inch Touchscreen
Disconnecting a Smartphone or an Audio Device
- Press the Pairing button on the touchscreen.
- Press the Paired Phones and Audio Devices buttons on the touchscreen.
- Press the Settings button located to the right of the device name.
- The options pop-up will be displayed.
- Press the Disconnect Phone button on the touchscreen.
- Press the X to exit out of the Settings screen.
Deleting a Phone or an Audio Device
- Press the Pairing button on the touchscreen.
- Press the Paired Phones and Audio Devices button on the touchscreen.
- Press the Settings button located to the right of the device name for a different Phone or Audio Device than the currently connected device.
- The options pop-up will be displayed.

Uconnect® 3 with the 5-Inch Touchscreen
To disconnect a specific smartphone or Bluetooth® audio device, proceed as follows:
- Access the Settings menu.
- Select the Phone/Bluetooth button.
- Select the Paired Phones or Paired Audio list using the corresponding button on the display.
- Select the specific device (smartphone or Bluetooth device).
- Press the Disconnect button.
Deletion of a Mobile Phone or a Bluetooth® Audio Device
To delete a smartphone or Bluetooth® audio device from a list, proceed as follows:
- Access the Settings menu.
- Select the Phone/Bluetooth button.
- Select the Paired Phones or Paired Audio list using the corresponding button on the display.
- Select the device (mobile phone or Bluetooth device).
- Press the Delete Device button.
- A confirmation screen will appear on the display:●Press the Yes button to delete the device.● Press the No button to cancel the operation.
